Architecture + Design Education

Our Architecture and Design Education (ADE) program is committed to exponentially expanding access to design education for K-12 students in Philadelphia. Diversity in the design and construction industry is woefully inadequate. One of our primary goals is to make more BIPOC and Latinx students aware of the career opportunities in design.

Support the Next Generation

Imagine a world where the bright minds of the Philadelphia Public School District are given every chance to flourish. That vision is what fuels the Architecture and Design Education program. Every year, we impact the lives of hundreds of students, offering free, transformative programs both inside and beyond classroom boundaries. But here's where we truly make a difference: We don't just teach; we inspire. We sow the seeds of creativity, knowing that today's imaginative idea becomes tomorrow's confident leader, whether in the boardroom or any setting they find themselves in.

But to continue this transformative journey, we need your help. By donating to our fund, you're not just supporting a program; you're investing in the future architects, designers, and leaders of our world. Empower the next generation. Support creativity and confidence. Donate now and be a cornerstone of change!

Our K-12 Programs

We are committed to providing access to design education to every student in Philadelphia because we need to increase the diversity in the design and construction industries and because our project-based curriculum can help students improve their socio-emotional and problem-solving skills.

Justice Alliance in Design Education (JADE- PHL)

The Center for Architecture and Design is the convener of JADE-PHL, which is an integral component of our Design Education programming. JADE-PHL is dedicated to creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for BIPOC students in higher education; and facilitates important conversations, learning opportunities, and connections that are essential for meaningful and sustainable change.

Our JADE-PHL initiatives are designed to support this vision and include a range of activities such as monthly meetings, a spring symposium, a summer fellowship program, JADE Studio, and a forthcoming mentoring program in 2024. Our goal is to shift the culture of higher education towards greater inclusivity and support for BIPOC students throughout their design education and career journeys.
