After years of multidisciplinary design work, designer Ryan Twardzik launched his own independent practice - unform studio - to focus on creating uniquely designed furniture, highlighting not only the the aesthetics, but also the interaction and tactility inherent in good design. The Schuylkill County-based studio is pleased to show its debut collection - The Drip Collection - to attendees at Design Philadelphia this year at the Cherry Street Pier.

Informed by the revered early American Mahantongo Valley Style Furniture crafted by artisans in the western valleys of Schuylkill County in the 18th and 19th centuries, the Drip Collection is designed and built in those very same valleys today. Where the highly decorated Mahantongo Valley pieces are distinctive with their exquisitely painted façades, The Drip Collection utilizes paint as the basis for it’s entire form. Crafted in the same area, though using modern materials and manufacturing, The Drip Collection appears like wet paint poured right out of a can, over the form of a piece of furniture, dripping and pooling out onto the floor. The sheer and industrial lines are contrasted by the organic chaos of paint pooling from the sides, formed by pouring paint down specially sized and built rigs to ensure each side of each piece has a unique, andreal, paint pool pattern to it.

Consisting of 4 pieces - the un4 Drip Side Table, the un5 Drip Chair, the un6 Drip Stool, and theun7 Drip Console Table - the collection comprises a nice suite with options for almost all scenarios. Laser cut from sheets of high grade aluminum, the pieces are then bent and powder-coated in bold, high-gloss single colors, allowing the Drip Collection to live happily either indoors or outdoors. Available in 20 no-cost colors, with custom options available as well, there will be a color to make them perfect for any space. Made to order with 6-8 week lead times, The Drip Collection is ready to stand out wherever it goes.
