This program is a mandatory resource to educate students on the challenges of culturally competent community engagement and is required to be attended and/or reviewed prior to the deadline for competition submissions. Because the competition is an IDEAS competition and NOT a community engagement project, NO TEAMS SHOULD CONTACT ANY COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
All teams must:
1. Attend the Workshop on Culturally Competent Community Engagement on September 21st from 12 - 1 PM. If you are unable to attend the live program, please contact Carly Clifford at carly@philadelphiacfa.org to request a link to the recording.
2. DO NOT CONTACT ANYONE FROM THE COMMUNITY. RELY ON THE RESOURCES IN THIS COMPETITION BRIEF AND OTHER RESOURCES AT YOUR DISPOSAL. There has been a tremendous amount of planning, press, outside community engagement, and development projects proposed for the open space in this community – be sure to familiarize yourself with this information.
